This article originally appeared on KCRA.com. According to KCRA 3 meteorologist Dirk Verdoorn, Northern California reached record temperatures on Sunday. In Sacramento and Stockton, temperatures rose to 109 degrees by 5:45 p.m. The hottest day for both of those cities was previously 108 degrees. South Lake Tahoe temperatures climbed up to 93 degrees, with the previous record being 89 in 2005.
